Meet your hosts, Heather and Richard
Some people fall in love with Barbados the moment they arrive. But for Heather, it was already in her blood. With roots on her father’s side stretching back generations, Barbados has always been a part of her family story. Some of her relatives still live on the island today.
Richard, born and bred in the UK like Heather, was new to the island. But it only took one visit to be completely won over. Perhaps it was the people, perhaps the rum punch, or perhaps the glorious sense that time behaves differently here... Whatever it was, Barbados became part of their shared story from that point on.
Together, they found themselves returning again and again from their home in the UK, until they finally decided to put down a second set of roots, in the form of the Bajan Hideaway. Originally intended as their personal retreat, it quickly became a labour of love. They poured heart and soul into shaping a space that feels warm and lived-in.
They still spend time here throughout the year, but they also believe that special places like this are meant to be shared. So now, they’ve opened their doors to you.
